Masculine

Hello Everyone! Well, Sunday again, which means another challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu! It’s my turn to host the challenge this week, and I have chosen the theme of ‘Masculine’! I always struggle with Masculine cards, so what better way to face my fears than make it into a challenge! Please pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have come up with!

Well, quite a busy week  this week. It was my father-in-law’s 80th birthday on Wednesday, so this is who my card was made for. It is also my other half’s birthday today, so we’ve been out and about visiting parents after we went out for breakfast this morning – quite a yummy start to the day, pancakes, bacon and maple syrup!!

For my card, I tried to incorporate the things that my father-in-law likes – trains, vintage, he used to work for the post office, and I found some fantastic papers from Kaiser Craft (Vintage Timeless) which had all of these things!

I have also discovered Frantage embossing powders!! They are so cool – I embossed the door hinge with it – it makes it look like vintage metallic, such fun to do, you have to try it!

The Crafting Cafe – Anything Goes

Hello everyone! Well, I’m a day late with my first post for The Crafting Cafe, but with a good reason!! We spent a long weekend in Bath celebrating my father-in-law’s 80th birthday, but went a day earlier for Valentine’s Day, which was a nice surprise! Hence, I didn’t get my card made in time to schedule the post for the blog, but anyway, here it is!!

Our first challenge is ‘Anything Goes’, and we have been lucky enough to be sponsored by LEJ Designs. I chose ‘Simply Sentiments’, and used one of the sentiments on the front of my card as the focal point.

Sew special and some fantastic news!

Morning Friends! Well, Friday evening – and it’s raining! Not looking forward to the predicted snow again for Sunday, but at least we haven’t gotten it as bad as other places. I think sunny South Africa is the place to be at the moment – anyone offering to buy me a plane ticket???

I have just uploaded my card for the new Eclectic Ellapu challenge which goes live on Sunday – please pop by then to see what I came up with and what the rest of the Pink Team created.

I have some really exciting news!!! I have been chosen to be on the new Crafting Cafe challenge blog design team! I will be posting once a month on the 17th – the idea is that the team get given an image to work into a theme, and we all post on different days during the month to give ongoing inspiration for the challenge which will run for a month. The February challenge started on the 1st February, and our theme for this month is ‘Anything Goes’.

My card for today was one that I made last week for another of Nadine’s friends. She is very into arty stuff and loves sewing, so when these free stamps came along in a magazine, I got really excited! I have paper pieced the corset with the backing papers to make it stand out more.
